FADD Inc. Parent Educators inform and educate other parents.  We teach others about the services, disorders, parenting skills, and becoming an effective parent advocate.  We provide the service by request in the parents home.  We do this because we care.

The parent support educator program is designed to create an understanding in these parents of need for education about their child's problem and the value of seeking support from others.

Parents of children who develop emotional problems are often unaware of the services available to them.  They may enter the system through a school intervention or a referral to a service.  They often feel alone in trying to understand both what is happening to their child and family, and how to access and participate in the services offered to assist them.

This is a free program!

It does not require childcare or transportation as the parent educators go to the families home and spend up to 3 hours  providing the parents with information about children's:

  • Services

  • Emotional Problems

  • Maximize positive interaction with service providers

  • Stress management

  • The value of support groups and parenting techniques

If you are interested please contact Peggy.  Phone referrals are preferred.

The parent educators deliver in a "personal way"  what they have received through their involvement in a support group.
